The Paris Opera performance of Richard Strauss’s work is conducted by Ingo Metzmacher, and with set design by the acclaimed Michael Levine and costumes by Anthony Powell it looks set to be a visual treat as well as a musical one.
Capriccio is the German composer’s last opera, and tells the story of Countess Madeleine who is torn between two suitors, the poet Olivier and the composer Flamand.

Yinka Shonibare: Childhood Memories
Yinka Shonibare MBE delves into his memories to create new work for this show at Pearl Lam, Singapore.
The artist’s dreamlike, batik-clad sculptures are based around childhood tales, traditions and folklore, half-remembered from his time growing up in Lagos, Nigeria. Gallery founder Pearl Lam says: “While Yinka’s new body of work draws on surrealism, his work continues to comment on cultural identity, colonialism and post-colonianism, themes very much relevant to a Singaporean audience.”
