Telluride, Colorado is a mountain town nestled in the scenic San Juan peaks, and every year since 1973 it has hosted a celebration of movies and creativity, with many influential figures from the business landing there.
The organisers keep the programme under wraps in advance, and frequently its premieres become globally acclaimed films – past examples include gems like Slumdog Millionaire, Juno and The King’s Speech. There are a variety of festival-pass options, as well as ways to experience the event on a budget, while still feeling fully involved – for example there are free films shown at the Backlot Theater
